MOT Tester / Performance Vehicle Technician

Are you ready for your next career move? 

We are looking for a person that loves performance cars. Porsche, McLaren, Ferrari etc. (A petrol head). Someone that wants to work for an independent, not constrained by main dealer politics. An independent that has so many exciting parts to the business. Service, Sales and Motorsport.

As a Brookspeed Vehicle Technician you will be working with a great team of Technicians, responsible for the maintenance and repair of performance vehicles for our discerning clients. Using state of the art diagnostic tools and equipment, the role is varied and rewarding.

Your profile

You must be a qualified Vehicle Technician with a formal qualification in City & Guilds/NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent qualification).

Ideally, you will have the ability to work within given timescales and the ability to tackle all aspects of vehicle repairs and servicing. Diagnostic skills and experience in problem-solving are not essential but are desirable.

Service Advisor

 A Service Advisor, is a customer service professional who works at a car garage. They are the liaison between customers and service technicians. Their duties include greeting customers, scheduling appointments, listening to requests, estimating costs and ordering parts.

  • Welcoming customers and explaining the services that the car dealership offers them.
  • Listening and documenting customers’ car problems and passing the information to the mechanics.
  • Consulting with mechanics about repairs and possible alternatives to expensive work.
  • Answering questions about service outcomes (after consulting with the mechanic if necessary).
  • Liaising with customers and mechanics to schedule car check-ups and service appointments.
  • Advising customers about warranty protections and potential cost savings.
  • Estimating car repair costs and the time it will take for repairs to be completed.
  • Resolving possible customer complaints after repair services are offered.

Car Cleaner - Driver - Handyman.

A fantastic opportunity has arisen to be a part of our fast growing prestige and performance car dealership located at Chandlers Ford Southampton. We are a professional and friendly dealership with a great team. We pride ourselves on extremely high standards and our stock portfolio reflects this.

Applicants must have a very high level of attention to detail, be able to work in a methodical fashion, use their own initiative and work independently or in a team when required. Previous experience with valeting and detailing is required. Some mechanical knowledge would be a welcome benefit too. Must have a full UK driving license and Saturday morning availability when/if required. Extremely competitive rates of pay offered for the right candidate who can demonstrate the skills required to grow alongside the company.

Daily Duties Include -

  • Cleaning and preparing vehicles for sale and to display in the showroom.
  • Carrying out interior detailing, wet and dry vacuuming and some exterior washes.
  • Three stage machine polishing and paint correction at all levels using paint depth gauge.
  • Steam cleaning of exterior and interior areas.
  • Undertaking additional duties that may be required by management.
  • Upholstery & leather refreshing.
  • Visual inspection and appraisal of vehicles.
  • Vehicle movements around sites.
  • Small paintwork touch ups, alloy wheel touch ups and carpet repairs.

Key Skills & Experience Required -

  • Good communication skills with management and the team
  • A meticulous eye for detail, going above and beyond the call of duty
  • Ability to work under pressure for meeting deadlines and timescales
  • Previous detailing experience and knowledge for preparing cars
  • A keen interest in cars alongside knowledge of brands and models
  • A team player but also happy to work independently
  • Must be presentable and articulate
